I come from an engineering background and gained a First Class Honours Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from South Bank University in London. I have been playing the guitar since the age of 11 when I had group guitar lessons on a Saturday morning in Ealing, West London. I had a varied career in Engineering starting with British Telecom and ending with the Civil Aviation Authority where I was a Senior Engineer at the London Air Traffic Control Centre. Throughout all this time I was playing guitar with various bands in and around London in my spare time. I emigrated with my family to Taupo in 2003. I had various jobs when I first moved to Taupo, but in 2005 I decided to follow my passion which has always been music. I started teaching privately and have gradually built up a full workload of students who I see from 3pm to 6.30pm on a Monday to Friday. I Joined the Registry of Guitar Tutors around 2010 and over the years I have put over 300 students through guitar exams which are accredited by the London College of Music. I also studied for and achieved a teaching diploma with the London College of Music. I teach quite a few adult students who I tend to see during the daytime as well as teaching with the Taupo School of Music and Tauhara College.
